I've only been caring for orchids for a little more than a year. What is happening here? A new plant off a stem?

    Buy more orchids now, you have the touch. I can barely get a new leaf from the existing plant.

      Orchid bark only, bright indirect light. High humidity and only water when all the roots are silver and soak it til they’re green and you should grow a new leaf in no time! Depending how many leaves it already has I sometimes remove the bottom one or two aswell Just suggestions

    It’s so cool ain’t it. Let it grow another leaf or two and some roots 3 or 4 then when it’s bigger you can cut it off the mother plant and repot it. Growing a baby doesn’t mean good news necessarily tho 🤷‍♀️

    It’s called a Keiki! It’s basically a baby orchid that will be the exact same as the mother orchid. The mother orchid is keeping it alive so you should leave it on until it has more roots that are a little longer so when you cut it off and pot it that it’s able to sustain itself.
