I’ve had this Moth Orchid for about a year and when I got her she had beautiful blooms. When all of the flowers ended up dying or falling off I cut it back to one of the little nodules like I saw you were supposed to. Now she has these leaves and “stems” growing out from where I cut her back! I was just wondering if she would bloom again? And also wondering if I should’ve cut her back closer to the base? She is still producing leaves at the base tho!
To me (a total noob so pls wait for more expert advice…) but I thing that’s a keiki, or a baby orchid. The 3 “stems” actually look like roots to me and nota flower spike

0 Mi piaceCongratulations on your keiki! That baby orchid is doing great and can be cut off and planted in its own pot soon (I'd let it get a third root to about the same length.) When you're ready to cut it, sterilize a cutter and trim on the flower spike below/near the keiki's roots, then trim it above the next node on the main plant. The keiki can be planted into a mix of orchid bark and sphagum (they like more moisture retention when young and can shift towards your usual mix with each future repot.)
