Problem, or normal? I noticed some mysterious fluffy stuff on the stem of my jeweled orchid. Is it a mold or some sort of unusually fine root system? How do I help my little friend?

    Update: after looking around on other forums, I've determined that fluff is just new aerial roots. I had no idea the roots for these could be so soft

      I didn’t think jewel orchids had aerial roots, as they tent to be terrestrial, and their roots tend to dry out above the media. Maybe your environment is just humid enough to support their growth? Interesting!

      That’s what i think it is as well. Looks like roots forming Make sure to keep the water clean or it will root the new roots. Wishing you great success along your plant endeavors.
