Are these darker skinny growths on my cymbidium possibly bloom spikes? This cymbidium hasn’t bloomed for a couple of years or more because it was severely root rotten so I have forgotten what the bloom spikes look like. Also I thought they bloomed in the winter, so surprised something is happening. Excited nonetheless.
These look like new growths, which, with good care and conditions should produce their own bloom spikes. I’m not well versed in cymbidiums, but based on experience with other types, and what I’ve read about them, summer is usually a time for vegetative growth. Also, because they are sort of flatter, not bulbous, they make me think growth not spike. But sometimes, the answer only comes with time. UGH! Keep us posted- whatever they turn out to be, I want to see them! 🤭
2개 좋아요 The growths are looking more like tiny bloom spikes to me based on the multiple bud-like growth at the tip. Fingers crossed. The evening temps are in the mid-high 50s, with day temps at least 20 degrees different, so maybe the plant thinks it’s time to start producing flowers?
