Hello all! My husband recently bought a dendrobium orchid for me and I’ve never had one before! We just noticed it had these dark spots on the stem and have no idea what they are. Google says black rot? Any insight or help would be greatly appreciated! It sits at a southeast facing window and we have a humidifier on that shelf.
Well I may have answered my own question. It was on the peel and was able to peel it away! I don’t know what the brown spot is on the top though. I also wiped off the excess water on the leaves after this photo bc I thought it may have contributed to the black spot.
2개 좋아요You absolutely don’t want water to sit on leaves, especially in the crowns and leaf joints of orchids- moisture that just sits and stagnates can aid in the proliferation of bacteria and fungal infections- the last thing you want is rotting pseudobulbs.
