Hey y’all! I have a question. Do y’all know how often the Sogo Lawerence moth orchid get keikeis? Because I would like to have another Sogo. I think she’s almost done flowering. Some of her precious blooms fell off a few days ago. Thanks in advance!

I don’t know the frequency but if you get some keiki paste, you will greatly increase the chances of your plant producing one.

I would research its parentage on orchid roots dot com, and then google the frequency of keikis for those parents. You may find it’s very prone to keikis or not very likely to create them. It also just depends on the individual you have. It’s definitely worth trying keiki paste. In my experience- WHEN you use it is just as important as following exact directions on your brand of paste. If you cut the flower spike and apply to nodes too close to the plant’s regular blooming time- you will only encourage a secondary flower spike. (Not a terrible consolation prize.) But if you apply it when the orchid’s hormones are gearing up for vegetative growth, you are more likely to get a keiki.
