Brand new to orchids and I’m sure I’m doing something wrong. My plant was flowering and doing okay, but then I went away for about 5 days and when I came back pretty much all of the flowers had fallen off. Does anyone have ideas about what happened and what I should do? Can I still save it?

Totally normal. Orchids go through a flowering cycle, and then they’ll die off (the flowers, not the plant). Keep your care schedule as you normally would, if the spike dies you can cut it off right to the base, if it stays alive then it might put out new flowers, but they’ll come from a node or two below where it already produced flowers. Don’t be discouraged if it takes a while to grow a new spike, it will when its ready :)

Thank you so much! This is a relief, I’ll continue with my care schedule and be patient :)

While it is normal, none of my orchids have ever lost that many flowers at once… they usually fall one by one in a span of a few weeks… however it will put out a new stalk if you take care of it

This is good to note. I’ll continue monitoring while I care for it. Thank you!
