      Will it kill the leaf?

      Probably not. But it will be easier to knock off accidentally. Luckily your plant has plenty of leaves and looks vigorous overall so I wouldn’t worry over one leaf.

      I have had both experiences- sometimes the root damages the leaf to the extent that it yellows and drops, and sometimes it just keeps on growin’ and thrivin’.
