   I love the miracle grow indoor plant food liquid fertilizer. I use it on all my plants but with it my orchid blooms last over 6 months and rebloom almost immediately.

     Do you dilute the fertilizer and how often do you fertilize?

     I usually a pump of the fertilizer per watering can used so about 1-2 pumps per gallon. I recommend fertilizing every month or 4th watering.

   I have used Espoma’s orchid food, Repotme MSU and Miracle Grow general feed all with good results. I am a weekly weakly grower so all were diluted at 1/4 to 1/8 strength and applied each time I watered. With the synthetic blends I like to flush the pot once a month with water to help reduce salt build up.

     Do you fertilize year round or only when the plant is actively growing?

     I fertilize while in active growth so when the plant is putting on leaves, roots or developing buds. I think the real key is to not exceed the manufacturer’s direction for use. As long as you don’t over fertilize you should be fine.
