Help! Why is the tip of my orchid stalk drying it was doing so good for the longest and now it’s drying out?
the flower spike has served its purpose — the plant doesn’t need it. i see you have a little baby orchid on there which looks like it has its own root? if that’s the case, i’d pop that (called a keiki) off and pot it up in some orchid bark for a cute little clone, and then cut the flower spike off at the base

1 gillaYou might want to wait to pot that keiki for a couple more roots, or for the single root to grow at least 1.5-2 inches so that it is mature enough to take in water and nutrients without the help of the mother plant.
