Orchid lost all its flowers and the ends of the spikes are drying up. Do I need to cut the spikes off for the next season?

i don’t ever cut anything that is still healthy and green. orchids will grow new flowers and keikis from old flower spikes, as long as they’re healthy. removing them is unnecessary but it can also stress your plant, so i typically advise only removing any brown, dead, dried out, and/or spent parts of the plant.

Yes, you may get a secondary flowering on any green flower spikes- but there will be less blooms, and probably smaller, less vibrant, etc. It is up to every grower how they want to handle this moment. I prefer to cut them to the base now, as eatyacarbs said above. It allows the plant to focus all of its energy on the production of leaves and roots that will support a healthier orchid over all, and a fuller more spectacular blooming next season.
