Do y’all do anything to control roots that are growing too close to leaves? The one on the right was growing along the leaf so I used a sling to keep it up off the leaf until I can redirect it down. And now I’ve got 3 more on the left (third is around on the other side- not pictured) will they damage the leaf or cause the leaf to fall off? This orchid has such pretty leaves I don’t want to loose them.

You really don’t need to do much to control the growth of roots unless you want to direct them into the pot. the only way they would cause any damage to the leaves are if they are very old leaves and would yellow and wither off eventually anyway. That has been my experience. Otherwise, they both tend to grow and thrive not really paying attention to the other.

Ok good! thank you!!!! I was super worried about the one on the right bc it was literally growing so tight along the leaf, I thought it going to go through it at some point. All the leaves are nice and thick, smooth, and green, even have a new on growing so I’ll just let the roots do their thing. Thanks for the reassurance!

Orchid’s aerial roots can absorb moisture from the air, so I wouldn’t worry about it. They’re still helping out the plant

I’ve had a few roots get stuck in the leaves and they (the roots) eventually ended up being stunted there, but the leaves themselves have never shown any damage for me
