Hi everyone! An update and a question for you guys today. I asked a little while ago whether or not I should repot my moth orchid into suitable orchid bark while it's in bloom, as I bought it from a store in some terrible dense medium I can't even call "soil". It's more of a carpet, really. I decided to wait it out and repot her once the blooms have naturally fallen off, because the roots at the top looked pretty healthy and robust. Fast forward to this morning, I notice a large yellow spot on the underside of one of the leaves (pic 2), and decide to get into the roots finally to see what's going on. My god. Thus thick carpet of a medium had suffocated the roots completely, and under the first layer of it was a ton of white mold. Lots of roots' ends had to go, being rotten, but surprisingly most stayed firm and healthy. I sprayed the root ball with 3% Peroxide and repotted into orchid bark. Hopefully she'll be okay. Now that you guys have all the context, I want to ask if there's anything else care-wise I should do? Should I wait to fertilize? Should I remove the yellowing leaf? Thanks so much!

Sounds like you did everything right! I’d go back to fertilizing and leave the leaf as is. I don’t actually know if leaves can go back to green after yellowing, but it still looks healthy over all, and that yellow spot isn’t that bad actually.

Thanks so much!:) I'm glad if that's the case. So you think I can fertilize right away?
