Hiya! I got this mini phal from trader joes. I was wondering when do you guys normally repot orchids? This one is currently still blooming but it's in a weird plug.. im anxious about the root but I also don't want it to go into shock. Do you guys repot immediately or do you guys wait? 🥺 please help this first time orchid owner
I always wait until new orchids are done reblooming to repot- UNLESS there is something drastic going on, like pests, or if you see obvious signs of root rot. Those plugs from the nursery are not ideal, and I would watch that you don’t keep the roots constantly wet in that compacted medium. Otherwise- the plant should be fine until the flowers are finished.
