I’m a little worried about my girl here 😞 I had to repot her recently and I thought she was thriving for a bit, but then her flowers started wilting maybe 3 days ago. I can’t place her outside unfortunately because I live in a college dorm, but if anyone could give me tips, that would be greatly appreciated!
Orchid flowers only last a few weeks to maybe two months tops. Then they die and fall off. Once dead, you can cut the flower stem back down to around an inch or so. The plant will then push out a new leaf set and then it will send out roots and eventually it will send out a new flower stem.
4개 좋아요You shouldn’t need to put it outside. Indirect light is all these types of orchids need. You may have hastened the flowers dropping by repotting while in bloom, but they would have pooped out on you eventually. You can clip the flower spikes now to let the plant focus on growing more leaves and roots to support its next blooming.
