Hey All, I just came into possession of an orchid in not great health. It has no leaves and small roots, but they seem health and the stem is strong. It was in dirt which didn't help and had rot that has been treated. I have put it in water but I'm not sure what to do now and if it can even come back from this. Thanks everyone!

I dont think it's going to be salvagable im ngl. Looks yellow, barely see many roots. Water has never worked out with these for me. Ive only been able to grow them in orchid bark and watering once a week. They like humidity rather than wet feet. Ive rotted a few roots off that way
いいね 1件Yea that's kind of what I'm assuming too. I was planning on putting it in orchid bark after I move later this week, but I have limited resources right now.

I’ve never tried growing in water however my first step would be to cut the flowers stalk off. This will allow the plant to direct all its energy into healthy roots and leaf production. It’ll need lots of bright indirect light and warmth to have a chance. Good luck.
0件のいいねThanks to the folks who tried to help. Unfortunately the plant was dead when I got it as I cut through it a few days after this and it was clearly dead. I also took all the advice here and decided to purchase a new orchid to try to keep for the first time. It is potted in spaghnam moss, let's all pretend I spelled that right, and seems to be doing well!
