LOVELY! That is an incredible flower- the variation in petals, the tiny fuzzy little lip! 😍 I don’t have a single polychilos type phalaenopsis. Do you find that they take different care than standard phals? Do they like higher temps or more light?

No I treat it just like I treat all my phalenopsis. I have about 9. All but three are your colourful grocery store variety. If anything perhaps a few degrees cooler at night (we turn down our heat at night.) But I guess all of them get that.

Oh and it is slightly fragrant. 😊

I love these! I didn’t realize they were fragrant. What do they smell like?

Faintly sweet and floral. There’s only the two blooms

Two is more than enough 😻

Good catch! I really should wear my glasses.

That’s incredible. This is such a fabulous orchid. (*Goes straight to wish list and adds*)
1 mi piaceThe flowers are also larger than I expected on a speciosa. She’s a beauty.

Is this a sequential bloomer? Or are the spikes new?

It is called a sequential bloomer. But I’ll have to do some more investigating. It didn’t do too well in shipping and I’ve spent time with this orchid getting her healthy again. I think I read somewhere their blooms can all be different but I may be wrong. I’m just chuffed that it’s healthy enough to produce blooms that are so pretty and interesting 😄
