Can someone tell me what to do with this orchid? Its roots are growing out of the pot and I need to repot it I just need to know how. Thanks!

    Since the roots are silver they need a water and none of them look really dead. I recommend removing the soil and replacing it with orchid bark, leca, and perlite. You can also buy an orchid mix from most plant stores but make sure not to use normal soil because it can lead to root rot. I hope this helps!

    When repotting, it can help to give the roots a long soak in water (anywhere from 20 minutes to a few hours, just long enough to help make them flexible.) Pick a new pot that's 1-2 inches in diameter larger than the root mass. Also water it slightly more often; it shows signs of mild dehydration

    Make sure to remove that soil puck starter. That will hinder it. As for soil, it depends how much effort you want to do. You could go the bark mix route or just straight sphagnum moss. Either or. But like someone said above, once they get really “silver” water it, then the new growths will look a bit green on those roots. After that just let it grow until those roots get silver again. Since you will have no nutrients in the soil, some spray orchid fertilizer will work fine. Hope that helps 🫡
