My Dendrobium that is cork mounted has put out one little flower! Just one flower 🤭 and it’s on a tiny cane growing off of other tiny canes. The bigger plant hasn’t bloomed for a couple of years, maybe because it’s not getting enough dry cold weather in the fall/winter?
Do you know what kind of dendrobium it is? It might be a kingianum, but I believe they tend to bloom in the winter so not sure. A quick googling provided several articles, including the AOS, that said poor flowering can be tracer back to light and water. They suggested reducing water and upping light when weather begins to cool.
좋아요 1개 I have think it’s a kingianum. When this plant used to bloom it was in the winter when I had it hem growing outdoors. This cork mount is indoors under a grow light but I’m not sure what triggered this guy to start flowering. I’m going to try “dry winter” and move the plant to cooler temps to see if that helps, as you suggested.
