How long have you had your maxillaria? Mine was rescued- the pseudobulbs shriveled like raisins, and it’s gorgeous now- plump and glossy pseudobulbs. It’s so bushy and tall that I’ve had to get a support ting to keep it manageable. But it has refused to flower for me. I put a grow light over it about 6-8 months ago to see if maybe it was a light issue. It’s a super fun plant- very interesting growth pattern, but I’m getting frustrated about the lack of blooms.

It’s grown about 20 new pseudobulbs in the last couple years.

my max is 4 years old and has been very good about blooming every year. have you tried putting it outside during summer? in addition to light, I think heat also helps. During humid summer days I put my max out for some warmth and partial direct light.

I usually don’t put mine outdoors- mostly because I’m worried about pests. I have like 35-40 orchids, and if I had an outbreak, I don’t know that I could manage treatment on so many simultaneously. I’m in Chicago, so we aren’t typically super tropical. But heat might be something I can play with. Hmmm… 🤔 Thanks for the advice, hoping to report back with good news at some point. 🤞🏼
