いいね 1件I also highly recommend the repotting YouTube videos of Miss Orchid Girl. In the meantime, some highlights… Already mentioned a clear interior pot, very well ventilated. You want this pot to be a little smaller than the exterior decorative pot so there is a little air movement around the pot. When you are getting rid of the old medium, be as gentle as you can as to not damage the roots. You may find it’s VERY packed in. Soaking the whole pot for 20 mins or so will help to make the roots more flexible and the medium a little easier to remove. You’ll want to trim away any dead roots. If they are firm and plump, they are healthy. If they are dry and papery or mushy and pull off very easily, they are dead. I’d recommend a bark and moss mix to transition from the original nursery sphagnum ball. You want it fluffy, not densely packed in. Phal roots need air as much as they need water. You may find that the new medium changes how often you need to water. Your old reliable watering schedule may change a bit. The clear pot will give you a really good idea of when it’s time to water. (When the roots have gone from bright green to that silvery color, it’s time to water again.)
