My very first orchid I am in love it is so beautiful but I worry I could kill it. Anyone have any good tips for beginners like me? I thought about getting a pebble try to place underneath so it gets some humidity.

    Yes pebble tray. After the blooms fall off repot in orchid bark and a breathable pot and i stress not to do it now bc you will drop them all immediately with shock. I can never keep them alive in the same containers they give them out in. I think its usually just way too much sphagnum moss or something idk. They just dont like to be sopping. Tend to grow on top of trees so their roots r more like vines in nature. Dont trim air roots.

    When watering, make sure you don't get any water in the crown (where all the leaves meet), get water directly on the roots, and let the pot drain fully so the roots never sit in stagnant water. Always use an orchid bark, these like a lot of air around thier roots. After it's done blooming, repot it to check root health and remove any weird packing materials from the store. These are also tropicals, so protect them from any extreme temperatures

    Don’t ever repot when blooming. I water my currently flowering one once a month but it is in bark. It also gets direct morning sun but no afternoon or evening sun. Just bright light. Also, don’t fertilize it while it’s blooming either. When the blooms fall off, you can cut it back to the node before where the first flower was and it will encourage a secondary bloom. Do not cut the node, just cut above it or you can cut back one node below as well. Don’t get the crown or the flowers wet. Just the roots. Also, they don’t actually need humidity. They usually do fine without it but it might take longer for new flower spikes to grow without it
