How am I doing ? I got her in feb and her flowers fell pretty immediate. She popped a new leaf but the cane is slowly getting darker and darker. I did remove quite a few bad roots when I got her too. Do I cut the cane off or leave it. Should I change the pot and moss?
Those roots are looking nice!!! I think to stimulate a new flower stem, you make a cut diagonally between the open eye & the closed eye; the eyes are the little 'nodes' on the flower stem for lack of better words, & on the second picture I only see open eyes. But it also looks like it could be growing more at the tip?? I'm quite new to orchids, so I think it's up to you! Regarding the moss, I think adding some perlite or some small chucks of orchid bark would suit it nicely! Wishing you the best of luck!!

0 likes It's those little papery flaps on the stem- those are open eyes!
0 likesOrchid roots need to breathe. Use orchid bark as potting medium and apply orchid fertilizer every few weeks when watering. You’ll be rewarded with beautiful flowers.
