Tolumnias!!!! Just bought a bushel of these delightful mini orchids on Etsy. Evidently they are my orchid equivalent to Pringles. Can’t have just one. So much for the plant embargo. But I guess it’s better than stress eating…

    Yesss 🙌 Idk if you saw my post last week, but I got a mini orchid too and a couple aroids at a local orchid show. Mini orchids ARE like pringles! 🤣 I need more! Although I’m also on plant embargo 😢 And I was kinda in the dog house about the orchid show buys. But how often do you go to a plant convention?! It was my first one, I had to get souvenirs!

      I did see your post the other day. I was actually skulking about Etsy looking for one when I found the Tolumnias and couldn’t resist them. I’ve got a couple already and they looked lonely. Is Pickles on a synthetic mount? I’ve got to find a good place for mounted orchids…

      I’m familiar with “window shopping” on Etsy 😂 I believe it’s a tree fern fiber mount. I like the look of cork bark mounts more, but this is what it came on, so I’ll keep it for now until I learn more. I did end up taking it off temporarily and cutting out a lot of dead roots to avoid rot. Hopefully it doesn’t get mad at be for doing that 😅 But it did have a lot of healthy roots too! I got mine from a member of the local orchid society, but some of the venders at the show were Ecuagenera from Ecuador, Fair Orchids from New Jersey, J&L Orchids from Connecticut, Frosty Hollow Orchids from Massachusetts, Ten Shin Orchids from Taiwan, and White Plaines Orchids from New York

      Etsy window shopping = take all the money I really need be better at hitting the local events. I always seem to show up the day after. Much to Mr Pi’s relief. Hopefully I can sneak in the itty bitty Tolumnias without him being the wiser. Please keep us updated on your Pickle journey. I am exceptionally curious what it will be like. I have really enjoyed seeing more “exotic” posts popping up in the forum. Paphs and Pickles and Leafless orchids! Oh my!!!

      Haha yeah, my partner in crime probably would have preferred if I didn’t catch wind of the orchid show just in time to go 🤣 But mini orchids are so small… who would even notice 😜 Will do! I’ll keep an eye out for posts from you too ☺️
