Why is my dendombrium so sad (root pic might help diagnosis for my child) :[

    My guess is it’s a water issue. Some of the canes look pretty shriveled and the leaves are a little wrinkled, and I assume based on the photos, limp. One of the canes look pretty new so it could be its pulling resources from the older canes causing the shriveling. Mine do that when in heave active growth or flowering. When that happens, I let mine soak longer than the typical 15 min (closer to 60 because I get distracted easily). I also noticed it’s in a bathroom. Dendrobiums want a ton of light, even more than Cattleyas. I suggest taking a look at the roots. That will give you a good idea if it’s too little water or too much water.

    Been growing orchids for a long time so have had many opportunities to problem solve. And learned a lot from other orchid growers 😁 And it doesn’t hurt that I am a compulsive collector. Orchids are basically Pokémon. Got to catch them all!
