What is this? This is my orchid plant. It’s not had a stalk in over 2 years. I’m not certain if this is one growing or just a root growing in a weird place. I changed up how I was fertilizing her so I’m wondering if maybe it’s working? She’s been in a kokodama for about 3 months now.
Wow. I didn’t know you could make a kokedama with an orchid. Maybe the moisture is encouraging the orchid to put out new growth?

Looks like a flower spike to me. It seems to have the folds and colour of a flower spike, younger orchids often produce them at the base of the third leaf down as well which can be a tell tale sign. Orchids definitely benefit from more moisture than many people offer them. I have great success with mine repeatedly flowering throughout the year since I converted them to LECA.

Looks like a new root to me. Spikes don’t have the point on the end see the picture above
It definitely doesn’t have a point. It’s rounded.
