Hi! I’m pretty new to plant care and just got my first orchid. How would you recommend watering it? Should I do 1/4 a cup weekly or water until it drains from the bottom? I’m also concerned it may have some root rot! Is there anything I should do to treat it?
Change it from soil to orchid bark, orchids can’t breathe in soil and the roots will rot easily without enough airflow. Do this as soon as possible to save as much of the roots as you can. If I were you I would look up orchid repotting videos and informational videos on orchid care on YouTube, there’s a couple great creators out there that have helped me a lot!

0件のいいねIt’s also helpful to use a clear plastic pot specifically made for orchids, they have holes or slits to provide the airflow that these plants need. Be aware that some phalaenopsis may react with a little bit of shock to repotting, and for this reason, some people prefer to wait until after your blooms have dropped to repot.
