HayNot doing a thing wrong! Flowers come and go. Once all the flowers fall off you can clip the flower spike down to the base or leave it. I’ve heard clipping is best since the plant will grow a new one with better blooms than if it tries to reuse the old. Leaves look healthy though from what I can see, that’s the part that will tell you how it’s really doing

Yep, agree with all the above. Your blooms will fall, but as long as you’re caring for your plant well, you should get a new flower spike. Just wanted to warn you that your flowers will be white. Blue orchids like this don’t exist in nature, they are basically injected with dye to create this color.

There are two schools of thought as far as clipping the flower spike. If you’d like to try for a second round of blooms, and your flower spike is still green, you can cut about a half an inch above the growth node before the flowers started to come out. This results in a second blooming, maybe 50% of the time. You may notice, however, that the flowers will be less in number and probably smaller. I tend to lean toward the second school of thought, which is to clip the flower spike all the way down, at the base of the plant stem. It allows your plant time for vegetative growth. It can focus all of its energy on growing leaves and roots, which are essential for the plant’s health, and can give you a better bloom show next year.
