Is my phalaenopsis âJia Ho Moonâ trying to bloom? The little bits sticking out to the left and right have been growing very slowly sinceâŠApril? They donât look like roots or leavesâŠbut if it is blooming, isnât it taking its sweet time?
yes! those are flower spikes đđ they do take a bit of time and should bloom during the winter or early spring â iâm wondering if they got a cool blast or something in april that started them?

Nice looking plant! I have one that is currently in bloom. Love it. It has a spicy floral scent, kinda reminds me of a stargazer lily. Newer flowers seem to be a red-purple, older are more blue-purple. It is by far the slowest bloomer in my collection. Itâs been in my collection for a couple of years. Mine is a sequential bloomer so I donât cut the spikes unless they die back. Most of the time the spikes just hang out taunting me with possibilities. All that to say, be patient and you will be rewarded.
