I moved a clip and foolishly and accidentally put it on wrong and it bit into a nice new spike that has lots of growth. Will those bite marks stunt the amazing growth that’s coming in (it’s the left spike in the photo)?

Probably not a big deal. The scrape doesn’t seem to be by a growth node or too close to a flower bud- and if so, it would likely only affect that small area, not the entire flower spike. That being said- keep an eye on it, any cut is a wound and just like on our own bodies, leaves the plant open to the possibility of infection. She looks like a very vigorous hybrid though, very healthy, so I wouldn’t stay up nights worrying about it. In future, those clips are best used on spikes that have already matured and hardened off a bit more. When still very young and tender, try using something a little softer (I’ve seen people use ribbon or yarn with great success) if you are looking to train the newer spikes.
2件のいいねThanks! I’ve read before that putting cinnamon on plant wounds is effective. Worth doing it here or leave it alone to heal on its own?
