Baby Hankers

My orchids are happily growing out of the top of my fish tank however they aren’t very stable at all. One of my orchids fell over and it snapped all the buds off the spike and shattered my heart in the process. Does anyone have advice on how I can stabilize my plants more? My tank isn’t rimless and it does have a lid with about an inch gap in the back for roots to grow.

Oh nooooo I’m sorry to hear that! For my orchid I have it clipped to a stake to stabilize it but mines not in a fishtank so I’m not sure if you can do this

They had stakes when I bought them but I removed them when I took the roots out of substrate. I could try to add some stakes back to it but was worried about the additional weight on the plant with no substrate to support it.

Maybe get some rods for the very top of the roots/bottom of the plant to rest on.
