Hey guys! I need help!! I’m new to this and I had a beautiful small orchid. Then it died after I repotted. Is the pot too big? Am I under or over watering? How do I get her back? I use orchid soil, I have a pot for orchids and has so much drainage. Idk what I’m doing wrong.? Please help before I lose her. Her name is beaches! Please help!

Ok, firstly, epiphytic orchids should not be planted in soil- you’ll need something like chunky bark or a bark and sphagnum moss mix (which is what I would recommend to save Beaches, as she’s looking really dehydrated right now.) My guess is that her roots have suffocated and died off. Trim away dead roots, repot in a moss/bark mix and be patient. Water, wait for the medium to dry, then water again. It shouldn’t stay damp all the time- but don’t let it be dry for way too long before you water again.

She is planted in orchid bark mix. I will go home and reported and take a look at her!

Got it- it must be the pink grow light. The mix looks like very fine soil, not chunky bark.

I agree with Jen. RePotme has wonderful mixes that I use on all my orchids. You may want to give it a try.

I agree with Jen and Two. All I can add is you might want to considering down sizing your pot. Phals like a snugger fit

After!! Had to downsize pot so much due to the roots needing to be cut off.
