The madness of the Ianclarkara rescue. I rescued this plant through a service that sends out struggling plants destined for the trash, knowing it was an orchid but not having any idea what I was getting myself into. I thought it would be a phaelenopsis with a fungus, something I have pretty good success treating. Well this has been an entirely different beast thatās for sure. Itās had a lot of history I have no idea about and has certainly had a pseudo bulb removed right in the middle of whatās left which leaves a strange gap. Alright so what I did when I freed it from its tiny cup it was escaping was I cut off all the dead roots and placed it in spagnum with a leca bottom in a plastic orchid pot, then aggressively treated (and still treating) with a gentle fungicide weekly. About a month or so of this and it has rewarded me with new growth! Iām so proud. This is Ianclarkara Cheyenne Marie āGreen Geckoā first pics are how it arrived, and the roots before, last pics are how it is now. The bulb damage hasnāt really changed and it has lost two leaves due to practically being black with fungus spots. Sorry for the massive post, maybe we can all learn from the odyssey of saving this super sick orchid.
