Do y’all repot your new orchids after some of the blooms have fallen or wait until all of them have? I lost a few blooms in the week or two right after I got my new plant I’m pretty sure that due to stress from moving but they have been fine since. I’ve seen several videos where people repot with blooms at several different states with the flowers dropping so I wanted to ask. As far as I can tell the rest of the plant is fine and I haven’t lost any blooms since those first few over two months ago.

If you like how it looks then leave it! You will lose the rest if you repot now. If you don’t really care and it needs to be, then go for it. If its in 100% moss I would repot as I’d rather have control of my plants moisture, air flow, etc. It’ll regrow a spike when its adjusted and happy. But I don’t get a long with moss very well lol If you’re new to orchids I would encourage you to move it to an orchid specific mix. If your plant is healthy and happy then do what makes you happy :)

I wait until the blooms fall as long as I don’t see anything too worrisome in the pot. If you clearly see root issues, or pests- repot for the long term health of the plant.

It depends on the type of orchid. I typically wait until after phals finish their bloom cycle. With most Cattleyas, you should only repot when new roots begin developing as any disturbance generally cause root dieback. With Oncidiums and dendrobiums, I am a little more cavalier and repot whenever they aren’t blooming. Regardless, I try to avoid repotting while a plant is in bloom. But I’ll do it if its health is at risk.
