I bought my first ever Orchid today 😊 I am not the greatest at all with keeping plants alive so I am hoping this app with help greatly! Is there a fertilizer that is highly recommended, the app recommends that I do fertilize it in 13 days?
The fertilizer I use is the Miracle-Gro one! It mists right onto the leaves :)
I use this too and spray once on the medium when the app tells me to lol

Pretty much any “bloom boost” fertilizer should be fine. I have used Espoma orchid fertilizer for a while and gotten good results. I like it because it’s organic (so less chance of burning the roots), it also has microbes for media health, it’s easy to use, and it’s fairly easy to get your hands on. I used it every time I water at 1/4 strength and flush the plant with plain water monthly to reduce salt buildup. Every so often I use miracle grow at 1/4 strength (mostly because my husband tends to buy in bulk). Recently I switched to Repotme’s MSU feed and it seems fine so far. The important thing to remember with fertilizer is to not over do it. It’s easy to burn the roots if you don’t follow the manufacturer’s recommendations. That’s why I half or quarter the dosage.
3 J'aimeI use a time release pellet type, so I put some in the medium while repotting initially, and then add at 6 or 12 months, as directed and based on type of orchid.
