Just pruned my orchid, but my friend forgot to water it while I was out of town… How do I save her?

    When you say pruned, do you just mean you cut off the flower spike? Or did you repot and cut away dead roots? Can you see the roots through the interior clear plastic pot? How do they look? As far as saving her, she just needs to be rehydrated. Try completely soaking the bark medium today, and keep an eye on it. Let the bark dry out but then water again as usual. Don’t let her dry out too long between waterings for the next 2-3 weeks. (Don’t keep her constantly wet though!) Does that make sense?

      Also- side note- it looks like you have water all over the leaves in this pic, and that can lead to problems with orchids- crown and stem rot which can be fatal to the plants. Try to just water the bark mix and root area.
