is there a chance of root rot?

Usually there isn’t with leca because root rot is caused by lack of oxygen, not just over watering. The spaces between leca provide plenty of oxygens If you’re really worried about it, make sure you keep the water level below the roots (the leca will soak it up and provide it to the roots) or use a wick system.

Just make sure you remove all of the previous substrate.

Could I apply the same method to my Monstera albo? Keeping a little water in the bottom? It’s also in LECA!
