So I noticed that my beautiful orchid had one of its biggest leaves dying. So after narrowing down what it could be I checked the roots and found root rot. So I trimmed away all the mushy roots. In the picture is what is left. My question is 1. Does it look like anymore roots need to be trimmed (some of them have black tips and 1 big one is like damaged but still looks really alive(edit:you can see it in the second pic, has that big brown spot that’s ate through half the root but the brown spot is hardened over)? 2 should I prune the left of leave it on?

1 - it looks like you’ve trimmed it up nicely. If the dark brown/black areas are firm,I probably would leave them (but I grow mine in almost exclusively bark so they dry out quickly). If you grow them in sphagnum only, the wetter environment might give rise to additional issues so consider cutting away all the black. I would also treat the wounds with cinnamon. Some studies show it has antibacterial properties. I haven’t seen any definitive proof on my collection but I don’t think it hurts them either. 2 - I would leave the leaf on. Your orchid doesn’t look that bad to me, and it additional resources could be helpful while it recovers from repotting. But if you’re really concerned, you can chop it.

Thank you sooooo much for the help!:) I knew I came to the right place. As far as the cinnamon goes just sprinkle a tiny bit on ?

I dip the cuts into the cinnamon so that it coats. You might do a google search first on its use. I tend to overdo things sometimes. A good resource for all things orchid is Miss Orchid Girl on YouTube. She has posted a ton of info and coves lots of different topics. The information is easily digestible and a great jumping off point for more research.
