   Unfortunately I don’t know much about this. I expect the type of orchid will affect the process and how it responds. I’m guessing a phal? I’d start by removing all media, including washing away any fine particles. Then I’d remove any dead and unhealthy roots. You might consider letting it dry for a couple of days to allow any wounds to callus. Once it’s in water, watch it closely for the first couple of weeks to make sure it handles the transition.
