I got this baby orchid a couple weeks ago and she came like this. I gave her orchid food and a grow light and nothing to seems to be working. She’s already lost 2 flowers. Any ideas???

    Orchids naturally lose their flowers with time. How do the roots look? If they are silvery/light green she’s thirsty. If they are a vibrant green she’s good to good. The leaves look nice and green. I wouldn’t worry.

      Agreed! Can’t tell what’s going on without a good look at her roots. Anything mushy is rotten… snip it off with sterilized clippers. Anything firm and plump is healthy. If you see yellow or white on the smaller inner roots it’s ok as long as they are firm.

    Looks healthy, just at the end of the bloom cycle. Once they fall off easy, it might be a good idea to repot (good chance to check the leaves) and snip the spike all the way back so she can focus on new roots and healthy leaves. I’ve had the best luck with orchid bark (I find smaller chips work best) in a clear pot with tons of holes. When it’s time to water, take the clear pot out of the decorate pot and soak it in room temp/lukewarm water for 10 minutes and let it drain for a few minutes before moving it to the decorative pot. Look into liquid orchid fertilizer and follow the same steps above when it’s time to fertilize. Best of luck!
