Hi everyone. I am having an issue with fungus gnats which I think originated in 2 dormant orchid plants. Iā€™m currently going the route of letting the plants dry out but donā€™t want to damage the plants. I have sticky strips in the pots which are catching lots of the little annoyances! Any thoughts on any other effective solutions I can try to rid my plants and home of these little pests would be gratefully received.

    If you wanna stick natural Nematodes Steinernema feltiae to kill the larvae. Otherwise a systemic pesticide or mosquito bit water.

    Orchid media SHOULD dry out between waterings. Itā€™s not going to hurt the plants, they NEED air around their roots otherwise they can rot. You might want to plan to repot, get rid of that fungus laden media, and start fresh.
