This is my first orchid and I was wondering if this grow light was giving it enough light. I don’t have a very well lit room and am wondering. Please let me know!

    I’m not sure about the grow light (never used one before). But I just want to warn you if you don’t already know, don’t water it with ice cubes! Fill up a bowl with water and let it soak for about 10 minutes, not fully submerging the plant. And only water it when the roots look silvery and make sure you don’t get the leaves wet (otherwise it will rot).

    They love bright indirect light, so you might get plenty of light from your window when the curtain is open. They grow in forests, so think of the light when you’re on a hike in the woods with a tree canopy above: it’s bright, but the sun isn’t beating on you because it’s filtered through leaves. Also the other commenter is 100% right: these are tropical plants. An ice cube is not enough water and not the right temperature. Let them soak in room temperature water for 5ish minutes when the roots are all silvery, not going past the top of the clear pot, dump the water, and let it drain for a few minutes before putting it back in the decorative pot. I also recommend rinsing out the decorative pot while it’s empty. Lastly, I recommend getting a liquid orchid fertilizer to do once a month or so (the app will guide you here). I got a bottle on amazon for $15 and mine are THRIVING.
