Help! What is going on with this orchid?? It was plugged in a tiny pot and root bound from the store. I repotted it and watered it a week later but this is how it’s looking.

    I wouldn’t worry too much about the yellowing of the lower leaves unless it continues to the upper ones. But the green ones look pretty dehydrated. If you’ve switched from a very water retentive plug, to an airy bark mixture you may have to water more frequently to keep up with the hydration needs of this plant. Water when the roots are silver. When they’re green, leave them alone. It looks like you still have flower spikes on your orchid. because your plant is pretty stressed, it would be a good idea to cut them down to the base while your plant recovers. In time and with good care, it will grow another flower spike.

    I'd leave the flower spikes, but feel free to trim them back or remove them entirely if you think the orchid needs it. To help it rehydrate, give it a bottom-watering soak (i'd give it 20 minutes to an hour.) Make sure everything dries properly after the soak, and as always avoid getting water in the crown. The two tan-yellow leaves are dead and the yellowing leaf and bottom most green can be cut off; they're highly likely to die back so you can help the plant heal by taking them off. If the leaves are still wrinkly, you can soak each time you water until they're happy, then return to regular watering

    Thank you so much for all the help! I’m going to keep giving it a good soak until it plumps up and remove the dead leaves.
