Not sure if this kind of set up is welcomed here… but here is a no filter shrimp set up I’ve had going 🦐

    When did you set up this jar? And how you take care shrimp without filter?

      The jar with the shrimp in it has been going for about 1 year. It’s planted via the walstead method - basically, it’s planted with specially selected plants that will cycle & clean the water. I also use dechlorinated / distilled water for this. There are also mystery snails in it. It’s honestly a super easy, low maintenance project :) just have to trim up the plants and feed the tank an algae disc biweekly. I’d highly reccomend youtube videos about no filter shrimp jars / walstead methods for it. That’s how I got started

    Awesome- I love the hardscape. I’ve recently set up a no filter nano for some shrimp, I hope it establishes as well as yours!

    Great job! I have a 3 gallon amano shrimp jar I made out of an old drink dispenser. It has been running for three years now. The only “tech“ are use is a grow light.

      They are neocaridina (fresh water shrimp) they are generally super hardy and colorful! Sadly, this ecosystem crashed last week after over a year :(
