Looking to start a terrarium and wanted some input on terrarium size and difficulty. Had the idea to put one in my fireplace and hide a light in the chimney since I never use it. So, I was thinking of getting a 15 gal tank since it would fit nicely. After mulling it over, I figured I’d ask if terrarium care varied much depending on tank size. Are larger tanks more difficult to care for? Would I be better off trying to make a small terrarium before I spend a decent amount putting together a 15 gal size tank and everything? Thanks!

    I think larger are much easier! Kinda like fish tanks. You have a bit more room for error. Vs small when something goes wrong, often it's DOA. Depending on the fireplace and how you want to set it up. You may look at an exo-terra type that have a front door(s). Otherwise you may have to drag the whole tank out to do maintenance and pruning from the top. Then youd want to think about what you want it in. If just plants or bugs. Like was mentioned by Dishsoap in another post, and cam be a lifesaver are beneficial clean up crews. Like isopods and springtails. Bioactive is always a lot easier for me. And you'd just need to see if you wanted to do a backing or sides with foam and stuff.
