Etoliation of my lithops…I have since installed a grow light but im curious as to others experience with this…They are quite far out of the soil now.

These are maybe three years old. They came as bonus plants with some seeds from the (reliable) Microlandscapedesign person; search "lithops seeds" on Etsy or Amazon, and you will come across that if you so desire. I successfully grew both lithops and monilaria moniliformis from their seeds and detailed instructions. Okay.* I have treated these as "if they make it, they make it," and they are potted in a much too large pot. Bottom watering is kind of moot because the roots are less than a quarter-inch long. Etc. I accidentally knocked the pot on its side a few days ago. Most of the top dressing spilled out, but this crew of survivors (there used to be eight) were all - despite being upside down - firmly in place and statuesque (pictured). That was their graduation into "I wonder what that one plant is up to today?" garden nobility. Even the yellow one. *Everyone wants to know where to get the seeds. I say I successfully grew them, which is true. However, I have not mastered the patience required to follow the steps to take after transporting the seedlings. You have time deal with humidity and moisture, and that's not my jam.

Why are my lithops turning yellow and dying? They grew perfectly for several months but now they are declining.

I've posted this to people's comments but I'll post it here for easier access. Don't follow Planta's watering schedule for lithops. I follow this chart and it hasn't done me wrong. I only water when my lithops show obvious signs of thirst such as soft to the touch and wrinkles starting to form. Hope this helps!

I’ve had these guys for 6 months-ish and they were perfectly healthy until they tried to “molt”/grow. Does anybody know what happened? Is the second green one salvageable!? Their environment: 1. They are planted in succulent soil 2. They are in my window that gets half a day of direct sunlight . Potentially more this time of year. 3. This is their first summer here and it’s been hot lately 4. They are planted with other plants that have similar needs 5. They have drainage 6. I follow the planta watering schedule 7. I gave them a little extra water when I noticed the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Their decent came on pretty quickly (within a week).

Is this etiolation? Do I need to take action? He was just replanted up from 2” to 3”. That was after being totally dumped out on the way home. I used a succulent mix. I tried to match the soil level as I found it at the garden center. He hasn’t been watered since I repotted. He gets all the sun we have from 2pm to 9pm. I thought my plant was growing but now I’m pretty sure it’s etiolation ( a word I’ve never heard before). Unfortunately I didn’t take a clear photo before today. I was more interested in the markings than the height.

Hi all, new Lithops mama and my Preya seems like it’s coming of a sleeve and one of them just kind of fell over. I keep it under a grow light with minimal water. Do you know what is happening and how I can help it 😩

How do I know that some of my plants notably retract and expand at night, and that the sound isn't a ghost rifling through calcinated clay? This happens every night around 11ish. TAP TAP TAP. This is around a week's worth of restless plant legs. Note that these are my latest and greatest Lithops. 🤞

I’m gonna need some mad scientist researcher to help me decide the species of plant this is. It looks like a mix between a Lithops, pleiospilos, and a window plant. Might it just be a certain type of Lithops, or is it something else. It doesn’t have the flat face of typical Lithops but rather the arch or triangle shape like a pleiospilos
