Cheeky Plant Name

I’ve had these guys for 6 months-ish and they were perfectly healthy until they tried to “molt”/grow. Does anybody know what happened? Is the second green one salvageable!? Their environment: 1. They are planted in succulent soil 2. They are in my window that gets half a day of direct sunlight . Potentially more this time of year. 3. This is their first summer here and it’s been hot lately 4. They are planted with other plants that have similar needs 5. They have drainage 6. I follow the planta watering schedule 7. I gave them a little extra water when I noticed the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Their decent came on pretty quickly (within a week).

    I recently learned that you should not water them while they are budding/splitting. Remove the rotting ones and let it dry out.

    It’s probably the soil… I’m new to lithops so I joined the r/lithops subreddit and they all say lithops prefer like 90% inorganic material in the soil. I have mine in like 90% perlite 10% seed starting soil. With a cute layer of horticultural rocks. Also my ones in terracotta are THRIVING and the others I planted in ceramic only have 2 remaining. I repotted today but in a deeper plastic nursery pot so we’ll see if that makes a difference. Terracotta hold moisture better so I’m running a little experiment over here lol!
