My lithops is wrinkly. It came like this and I thought it was thirsty so I watered it and it’s gotten worse. Have I overwatered it?

MeasomerPiYou’ll know if you overwater because it will collapse almost immediately. The trick with lithops and water is timing. You don’t want to water when they are putting on new leaves. You don’t want to water them while they are dormant. You can water when the old leaves have completely shriveled and the new set are growing. And they may want a little water occasionally just to keep them plump. It’s difficult because the wrinkling can mean they they want water. OR that they are redistributing resources from the old leaves to a new set of leaves. I am still trying to figure it out. The best thing you can do is do some online research

Dave_opuntiafaceI echo the advice above, particularly on overwatering quickly turning them to mush. One comment on it looking “worse” is that these will look awful and then ok, and then maybe great throughout the year. I just posted about this set of Lithops - one just flowered. You can imagine that I was losing my mind here (last winter), but they were all healthy. Just changing.
