Is this pot too small or am I under watering? Curious whats happening to my Syngonium? I water once a week (soil dries out) but it hasn’t had any new growth in months and the older leaves are turning yellow/curling up. Is it too small of a pot or do I need to water it more often? Have it under a grow light with an east facing window.
This looks like a case of Underwatering, and the pot being a tad too small.. depending on last repotting and root density. Syngonium like moist, not soggy soil conditions. Like the soil after a misty warm night, that kind. Just damp enough - and once a week might not be enough to have it recover. The yellowing is circling dead leaves usually means the whole root system is getting uneven watering, or just not enough. I’d suggest running her under the tap, and spinning 360 gently until it drips out from the drainage holes. If the roots are circling or falling out, maaaybe I’d consider a bigger pot but it might honestly do more harm than good. Plants are resilient, but with that being said also diligent. Give it time to acclimate before any big decisions are made, she may surprise you! I’d also reccomend taking it in the bathroom while you shower, that humidity boost for about 10-15 minutes, it will do you a HUGE favor. Growth will come back! And glossier and more importantly lush. 2개 좋아요And if you are scared of repotting you can also cachepot! It works quite the same, well not quite but in times of recovery or needing a plant to be stabilized. Just a tad research on where the plant comes from, their usual day to day’s light and humidity you will have a breeze when it comes to this syngonium. They’re forgiving, give her time to forgive you!
좋아요 1개Thank you! I pruned the two dying leaves and did the thorough but not too much watering! Not repotting just yet. Hopefully start to see more growth soon
0개 좋아요You will, i suggest putting your syngonium in lighting like this if you can! This dappled lighting mimics the jungle floor, and offer a diffuser/humidifier and you will see growth quick! Repotting is the last thing on the list, I’d say so far down you should wait until your syngonium grows too full mature leaves before thinking about it. I highly doubt it’s close to root bounding. Goodluck ! Also this is a west facing window.
I agree with Kameron, unless you are using good plant lights with the right uv then they won’t do so well, learned from experience 😅 I put mine under bright indirect light
