Any ideas what’s happening here? Is it just old? I traded for it and when I got it this leaf had started to yellow a bit but not this much, and it’s been a week since I looked at it last. Could it be root bound?

    I took this photo 08/02, unfortunately no shots showing the face of the leaf from then. You can see it’s slightly yellowed at the tip and around the edge but not fully yellow. Dr Planta says it might me thrips but I really don’t see any on the plant. I asked the person I traded with when it was last repotted and got “not sure, it’s been a while though.” It’s the lowest node, but seems weird for it to be age considering its size. I could repot, I have a pot that would be a good size, at least to see the roots to see if maybe it’s root rot. I’m not super familiar with syngoniums and I’ve never had an issue like this before.

    hmmm
it could just be adjusting to the new environment if it’s only happening to this leaf. I wouldn’t repot — just let it adjust for now, that leaf will drop soon

      because of this variegation this will want a good splash of morning or evening sun if you can get it in an east or west facing window. mine is semi-hydro in an east facing window and after it adjusted (also came as cuttings from a friend) it lost one leaf and it doing great now, popping out full pink leaves

      I have a nice east facing window I have my other syngonium in (same kind, actually, but way bigger). I don’t have it in that window yet in an attempt to isolate to check for pests because I don’t have a case or something with a grow light set up to do that properly yet. It hasn’t shown any other evidence of something going on, so maybe I should move it soonish? Still a little worried the leaf is a sign of pests 😅 I haven’t dealt with anything other than gnats before. It’s good to know that a leaf can drop while it’s adjusting! Monsteras and tradescantias aren’t that sensitive I guess.

      these are very susceptible to spidermites but if it’s just this leaf and you don’t see anything it’s probably just stress from transition đŸ€ž
